Membrane bioreactor (MBR) is a new wastewater treatment technology that organically combines membrane separation technology and biotechnology. Combined with traditional biochemical treatment, membrane separation equipment is used to intercept macromolecular organic substances and eliminate the secondary sedimentation tank. The concentration of activated sludge is greatly increased, and the difficult-to-degrade substances are continuously reacted and degraded in the reactor, so the biochemical treatment effect is greatly improved, the turbidity of the water produced is reduced, and the floor area is reduced. The water produced by the MBR process can be directly used for general miscellaneous water reuse such as greening, watering, car washing, sanitation, toilet flushing, etc. The disadvantages of MBR system are that the initial investment is large and the MBR membrane module needs to be replaced regularly.
